Brent Hayden is a Canadian former competitiv swimmer. He was a bronze medal-winner in the 100 meter freestyle at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He was world champion in the same event in 2007 with Filippo Magnini of Italy. 

By winning the 100-meter, Hayden became the first Canadian in a 21 year drought to win a gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships, and he was also the first Canadian to appear in the 100 meter final at the Olympics since Dick Pound at the 1960 Summer Olympics, and the first Canadian to win an Olympic medal in the 100 meter.

Brent adds a further three silver and one bronze medal to his World Championship totals. In addition, he is currently hte Canadian record holder in the 200 meter, 100 meter and 50 meter freestyle in both the short course and long course. He has also held the world record in the 4x100 meter medley relay, and the 4x200 meter freestyle relay.
